You have promised yourself—for the 1000th time—that you’ll start losing weight… and you intend to actually keep it this time around. Here are six restaurants in the Metro that you’d want to keep on your list even while you’re trying to lose weight.

Gone are the days when eating healthy meant having to bring your own packed lunch to work or munch on sad office canteen salad. Here are six restos in different parts of the metro that are sure to satisfy your palate and your calorie count requirements at the same time.

Bodhi Vegetarian Restaurant

You can find this resto at several SM foodcourts (Megamall, Manila, North EDSA, Fairview) and along Banawe in Quezon city.  All their dishes are vegetarian and incredibly flavorful. You will end your meal feeling full and satisfied. Try its chicken curry, sweet and sour pork, and asado—which you would swear was real meat.

Hillside Café and Juice Bar

QC residents, this one’s for you! Located at Mother Ignacia St., Hillside offers vegetarian dishes, cold-pressed juices, and something awesome called the Greek Mac and Cheese—a meatless take on the classic Mac dish we all love. Hillside’s dishes are packed with so much goodness and flavor that you’ll be thinking of ordering seconds. Plus points for its use of locally sourced, organic ingredients.

Corner Tree Café

This homey restaurant along Jupiter street in Makati offers a variety of dishes that’ll suit all palates. Included in the prestigious Miele guide of Asia’s best restaurants, a visit here is a guaranteed treat. From Koftas and Thai curries to baked tofu walnut burger, you’re sure to find something that’ll satiate your cravings.  Take note, the restaurant closes pretty early with the kitchen accepting last orders by 9:30 pm.

Sprout

For those constantly on the go, Sprout offers juices, wraps, and freshly packaged salads that you can take out. Run in, use the touch screen menu or line up at the counter, and run back out with a complete meal that’ll tickle your taste buds and make your gym instructor proud.

Sprout can be found in Makati, between Rufino and Valero st. It makes regular bike deliveries within Makati city and accepts bulk orders for Makati, BGC, Pasig, Ortigas and Pasay City.

Runner’s Kitchen

Runners and marathoners can now dash into this healthy resto in QC for some serious tummy filling after a 10-km-run. But hey, walk-in diners are welcome too! Must-try’s: Runner’s Breakfast (beef tapa, brown rice, squash and zucchini nuggets, alfalfa sprouts, and marinara sauce); Prawns Quinoa with Sundried Tomato Sauce; Spicy Tuna Quinoa Roll; and Chicken Malunggay Pesto on Whole Wheat Pasta.  Runner’s Kitchen is located at Unit 2 Creekside Square, 74 Tomas Morato Ave., QC.

The Wholesome Table

If you are looking to treat yourself to organic, healthy, and hearty food, this is the place to go. Try the Chicken Marsala or if you’re with friends, order one of the wood-fired pizzas. There’s a gluten-free pasta option for those who love pasta but have to contend with the gluten allergy. It also serves gluten-free desserts so you won’t feel deprived. The Wholesome Table has branches in BGC and Salcedo Village, Makati.
