Seaside Camp: Masasa, Tingloy, Batangas
If you want to get away from the blitz and glitz of the metro, a sleepy town with a nice beach for a weekend might be the solution. Masasa beach is in the fish-shaped island municipality of Maricaban. Travelers can camp out in the beach and feel like they’re far away from the metro because there are hardly any manmade structures in the area. Aside from the pristine beach, there’s a nice twin rock formation called Mag-asawang Bato.
How to get there: Ride a bus bound for Mabini, Batangas in Cubao or Pasay and take a jeep to Anilao port. From Anilao port, take a public boat to Tingloy Port. Once in Tingloy, take a tricycle to Masasa beach.
Approximate travel time: four hours
