Are you ready for the coming year? Here are a few things you need to accomplish now.
In just a few days, the year will end. What can you do to make your next year the best one yet? Here’s a list of what you need to do to prepare yourself for the coming New Year.
1. Secure your finances.
You wouldn’t want to welcome New Year empty handed. That does not augur well for you for the next year. So start doing things differently this year. If you have not started yet, start now, before the year ends. After you receive your bonus, save 20 percent of it and open a savings account. You can also invest in stocks or mutual funds. Get a life insurance or better yet, get a product that combines life insurance with investment.
Start cleaning out your closet and get rid of unnecessary items at home. Whether it’s that extra chair in the living room or that lotion on your dresser that you have not used for years. Since it’s the season of giving, you can donate your old stuff to charities or if you need the cash, sell it to people via a garage sale or posting it on sale groups and sites.
3. Fulfill your promises
This is the perfect time to list down all your commitments—responsibilities, debts, promises—and accomplish them before the year ends. Doing so will give you a sense of accomplishment and it will let you start the new year with a clean slate.
4. Lessen your data space
This is also the best time to review your data space, both in your mobile phone and computer, and deleting files that you will no longer use. Organize your inbox and delete emails that you don’t need to keep track of. If you will still use them, store the files in the Dropbox so you will still have access to them.
5. List down your goals for next year.
What do you want to accomplish next year? List your goals and read them aloud every morning as a reminder. This will help you focus on what you need to do to achieve them. Good luck!
