6 Best Last-Minute Vacation Destinations Near Manila

It’s already the holiday season and you still have nowhere to go for that much-needed R and R? Here are six places you can go to in a snap! 

Okay. So you failed to plan this year’s trip yet again. Shhhh!! No one really needs to know that. Here are six places that you can easily travel to. No airfare. Just a day trip. Make sure though that you book a nice hotel before you leave Manila.


Although known as a summer destination, Tagaytay also has a few places that’ll be perfect for the holidays. There are spas everywhere and choiced restaurants and cafes for special dinners. You can also head to the SkyRanch or People’s Park, where there are a number of activities that can be done. You can also opt to travel to the crater of Taal Lake and see such beauteous sight.

If you just do not have the time to leave Manila, why not do a staycation here? You can probably find everything you’ll ever need in malls—spa, eat-all-you-can restos, shows, Christmas displays, etc. Check out Ayala Triangle Garden’s dancing light display every 30 minutes.

If you’re up for an adventurous Christmas experience, try an ATV trip to Mt. Mayon. You can even time your trip and catch the sunrise or the sunset. Others opt to do a sunrise trek to the hills of Quitinday, which resembles Bohol’s Chocolate Hills. The weather for the holidays is perfect for trips like those. Because even when it’s sunny, the wind’s cool enough not to annoy you as you go hiking.


Batangas may be known for its beaches like Laiya’s white sand beaches but a tour of its city landmarks is just as interesting and maybe a change of pace for you. Visit the heritage town of Taal and learn about our country’s history and old-world architecture.
