Is a Condo the Right Choice for You?

Want to have your own condo unit? Before you start your property search, decide first whether the condo is the right choice for you.

Condo living is fast becoming the norm in city living. Built in strategic locations that are near public transportations and central business districts, more and more people are opting for condos as opposed to apartments, townhouses, and house and lots. But is it the right choice for you?

1. You live alone.
Condo living provides security that apartments, house and lots and townhouses do not have. Before you can go up the building, you first need to register at the lobby. Condo buildings have 24-hour surveillance cameras and security.

2. You want convenience and comfort
Condos have gyms, running paths, and swimming pools inside. Everything you need is within an elevator’s reach. And here’s a bonus—it does not get flooded.

3. You commute.

If you don’t drive and have no plans of buying a car, opt for a condo. There are a lot of condos in areas near train and bus stations where you can conveniently wait or alight. At the same time, you avoid parking and traffic problems when going to the office.

4. It’s a second home.
People buy condos because of the convenience but it is not something that you can live in when you get married and have children. If you already have a home somewhere but just want a place near your place of work, then condo it is.

5. You have limited cash.
Condos are not as expensive as, for instance, getting a townhouse or buying a house and lot. If you do not have much budget and are reticent in getting a bank loan, then condo is the best option for you.
