IT Test Lead


The Test Lead’s primary responsibility is to lead the FWD SIT and UAT strategy, planning & resourcing for the FWD application development projects. The ideal candidate will be coordinating the strategy and planning of SIT and UAT with various participating business units.

The Test Lead will conduct or lead all testing activities within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) which covers various types of testing, as needed (Unit, Regression, Functional, Systems, Stress & Scale, and Smoke & Sanity). The candidate will have an experience and working knowledge of various defect management tools.


  • Responsible for overall success of System Integration Test (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
  • Develops SIT plan and UAT approach and timeline, including Regression Test scenarios on requirements, where necessary
  • Ensures test scenarios are traceable to business requirements
  • Ensure all test cases are reviewed by Business Analyst and/or Project Manager
  • Responsible for communication, execution and management of Defect Resolution Process
  • Works with development teams to establish/maintain test environment
  • Defines roles and responsibilities of testers
  • Identifies testing participants from each business unit
  • Leads execution of SIT and UAT activities
  • Ensures all testing defects are assigned and resolved according to the project schedule
  • Facilitates testing status meetings with the testers to track progress
  • Communicates status and escalate testing issues to Project Manager and team timely
  • Obtains UAT signoff from Business Units
  • Recommends new test strategies, process improvements and standards

Skills & Experience Required

  • B.S. in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field with computer applications, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in Insurance software testing
  • Detailed understanding of the end-to-end Testing Processes / Methodologies
  • Test Management Experience on medium scale projects (SIT and UAT) is preferred
  • Strong SQL and Microsoft Office skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications
  • Experience working both independently and in a team oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Software development experience is an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills
  • Understanding of systems engineering concepts (SDLC)
