- Stretching is key to his fitness routine.
- The more you’re flexible, the less injuries you get.
- Exercise hurts but you gotta get up.

PBA player Marcio Lassiter wouldn’t have won several championships if he hadn’t been built for the hard court. What is his secret? Stretching!

When asked about his fitness routine, the Fil-Am pro basketball player reveals his secret—stretches. “Stretching is a key.” Marcio works out regularly to remain in shape for the PBA games. However, he admits, the older he gets, the harder it is for the body to recover. That’s where the importance of stretching takes place.

“When your muscles are stretched, you’re less at risk to having injuries. The more flexible you are, the less injuries you’ll likely get,” he explains.

One more important thing for him is recovery. After all the tough games, grueling plays and practices, every athlete will always want to recover. Recovery is part of the routine.

During the corporate training where he gave a talk, Marcio said that he learns from each person day by day—from coaches, mentors, or even from players like him.

As expected from a disciplined athlete, Marcio continues to train hard. “I know it hurts. But you gotta get up.”
